Karen is Director of KU Consultancy, a regeneration and tourism consultancy practice specialising in the delivery of multi-disciplinary urban and rural projects, tourism, event management and economic development projects.
Karen has specialised in business development since 2000 and has a passion for working and nurturing businesses to assist them to develop and grow. Her approach to working with clients is to offer commitment in supporting them to achieve their goals and create results, whether that is developing a strategy for a business or supporting a public body to achieve their departmental objectives. Karen’s practical experience spans a range of roles including, a successful business development role within the enterprise sector, as well as, working in economic development within Local Government for 19 years. Working in the enterprise network, Karen worked with numerous small businesses to develop their business plans, marketing strategies and generating sales leads for cross border trade. During her time in local Government, she worked on the regeneration and development of towns and villages delivering economic development initiatives assisting new and existing businesses. This also involved working closely with the tourism and hospitality sector to enhance and promote the tourism product and experiences.
